Viggo Mortensen’s Los Angeles

It is hard for Viggo Mortensen to say where home is for him, but the Los Angeles is certainly one of them.

Viggo Mortensen may be bathing in critical acclaim for his role as Tony Lip in Green Book, that won three Golden Globes, but the 60-year-old Danish-American doesn’t limit himself to one art form. He’s a poet, writer, painter, photographer, musician and director too.

TreePeople

Situated in Coldwater Canyon Park, TreePeople is a volunteer-driven environmental organization that educates the public on sustainability and serves as an oasis in the middle of Los Angeles. It is a great place for hiking.

Venice Beach

My favorite beach depends on the season. I like Venice Beach in the middle of winter especially. If it is relatively bad weather for Los Angeles, then there’s nobody on the beaches – which I like.

Topanga Canyon

I’m always looking for untouched nature as much as possible. There are places high up in Topanga Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains where you can take really lovely long walks.

Poom Thai

I like everything they make in this Thai restaurant. It’s a great place. It’s family owned and it’s named after their son Poom – a smart student who still helps out at the restaurant when he can.
